Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin condition with red, scaly patches, called plaques, due to inflammation and excessive skin production. The plaques appear over red skin and are usually silvery, white in appearance. Psoriasis can be found on the scalp, hands, elbows, legs, and chest. The true cause of psoriasis is unknown, but most doctors think it is caused when your body mistakes healthy cells for dangerous ones. Recent studies show that there is also a relationship to your immune system. There is no cure for psoriasis, but you can treat the symptoms.

Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® will soften and exfoliate (remove) the buildup of plaques. It also contains antimicrobial and antifungal properties to combat and prevent infection. The dimethicone in Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® with Oakin® protects and moisturizes the skin. It is absorbed by the skin and penetrates down through the layers of skin to promote a healthier skin. The anti-inflammatory properties of Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® will help reduce the redness.

Apply Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® as often as needed. Once the symptoms have subsided, continue applying it daily to keep your skin in a healthy state. The only way to know if Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® will actually work for you is to try it for a couple weeks. We offer an unconditional 30-day money back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the results, then simply return it to us and we will refund your purchase price. To relieve the symptoms of psoriasis, you need more than just a moisturizer; you need Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® skin conditioner with Oakin®.

Tips to Help Reduce Symptoms of Psoriasis

While there is no known cure for Psoriasis, you can manage the symptoms. The tips below may help reduce some of the symptoms of Psoriasis.

1.    Learn what makes your condition worse. Known as “triggers,” they involve anything that causes or makes psoriasis “flare-up” or worsen. In some people, certain medications, injury to the skin, stress, cold weather or even smoking can be triggers. If you notice that your condition has suddenly worsened, try to figure out what triggered it. When you identify a trigger then you should avoid it whenever possible.

2.    Wear clothes that are not tight fitting and are made from a soft fabric. Loose fitting clothes that are made from soft natural materials like cotton, silk, etc. slide over the skin with little or no irritation. Clothing made of materials that are rough to the touch can irritate the skin and make symptoms of psoriasis flare up, especially when worn for longer periods of time.

3.    Avoid the urge to scratch. Use of a moisturizer like Amerigel® Care Lotion that has an anti-itch (antipruritic) ingredient in it can eliminate the urge to scratch. It can be applied as needed to take away the urge to scratch. Applying a cold compress to the irritated skin area can also help temporarily relieve the itching and inflammation. Scratching the irritated area can create tiny openings in the skin and result in an infection.

4.    Keep your skin moisturized. A high-end moisturizer such as Amerigel® Care Lotion helps the skin retain its normal moisture and provide additional moisture to the skin since it is also an emollient. The best time to apply Amerigel® Care Lotion is right after bathing or showering. Amerigel® Care Lotion also exfoliates which helps remove flakes or scales that may build up on the skin.

Thank you for Amerigel products!  As a caregiver I have used Amerigel Care lotion to prevent patients’ red, irritated skin from developing into a bed sore.  The Amerigel Barrier lotion is equally effective and keeps incontinent patients comfortable.  I have discarded several other medications and creams, replacing them with your terrific products.  They’re a real plus to caregiving.
