Contact Dermatitis

Contact-Derm

Contact Dermatitis (skin allergy) is the medical term for skin irritations resulting from contact with a foreign substance that you are allergic or sensitive to. Contact dermatitis usually takes several days to resolve and only when you are no longer in contact with the irritant. Poison ivy is the most common example of contact dermatitis.

Common symptoms are: itching of the skin, skin redness or inflammation, tenderness, localized swelling, warmth or rash at the site of exposure. You should try to find out what caused the reaction, so you will know to avoid it in the future. Sometimes taking a bath in warm water with oatmeal will help soothe most of the symptoms.

Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® is our best product for helping with the symptoms of Contct dermatitis. The dimethicone helps to moisturize and protect the skin. The Oakin® will help reduce the redness as soon as you start to apply it and provides a shield to prevent any bacteria getting into the pores of the skin. Apply the Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® to all areas where the rash is to help reduce the itching. Sometimes there is nothing topical you can use to take away the itching but a prescription for steroids from your healthcare provider. Amerigel® Care Lotion with Oakin® will help prevent scratches from getting infected, so it is like “first-aid” for your skin.  It has an unconditional 30-day money back guarantee so don’t hesitate to try it and relief will be on its way.

We have seen really good healing results with Amerigel Care Lotion.
