Wound Wash
Wound Wash

What is It?
Amerigel® Wound Wash is an electrolyte solution that contains the antimicrobial benefit of Oakin™. Physicians use it to irrigate wounds and to moisten gauze dressings. Amerigel® Wound Wash is non-cytotoxic and will not harm new developing granulation tissue. It is economical, easy to apply and saline is recommended by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ.)

Why use Saline?
Patients often times cleanse their wounds with soap and water, not knowing the harm they are causing. If not adequately rinsed off, soaps can leave a residue or film. To make matters worse, most health departments allow for certain amounts of additives in their water systems like chlorine and fluoride, as well as bacteria that may slow or impair the normal healing process. Utilizing saline eliminates these risks and studies have proven a moist saline gauze dressing offers a 30% efficacy by itself.

Why use Amerigel® Wound Wash?

  • Amerigel® Wound Wash is free from contamination, bacteria and other potentially harmful chemicals found in normal tap water.
  • Amerigel® Wound Wash can be used to cleanse wounds as well as saturate primary gauze dressings, unlike common wound cleansers and disinfectants which serve only one function.
  • Packaged with a flip-top dispenser to eliminate product waste that is common in pressurized saline.
  • Cleanses wounds without any burning or stinging.
  • Recommended by doctors and hospitals.
  • OTC and easy to dispense.
