PATIENT:
56 year old Caucasian male.
DIAGNOSIS:
Diabetic ulcer, right great toe.
MEDICAL HISTORY:
Insulin and orally controlled
diabetic with confirmed loss of
(Figure 1) sensory perception to feet. Ulcer
occurred in 2001 with previous treatment
consisting of multiple debridements.
(Patient sustained amputation of left
great toe in 1996 due to infection.)
TREATMENT:
Sharp debridement of ulcer initially. Daily dressing
changes with AmeriGel® Wound Dressing.
RESULTS:
Significant reduction in wound size in one week.
